Giulia Cherchi is an architect and PhD student at Sapienza University of Rome, specializing in the conservation and enhancement of architectural heritage. She holds a degree in Architectural Conservation from the University of Cagliari, where she produced a dissertation titled “INTERLÚDIO - Knowledge and Enhancement of the Plan Barron Batteries in Portugal”, developed in collaboration with Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa. Her research focuses on the preservation of Second World War concrete heritage, particularly in Sardinia, where she has worked with the University of Cagliari and the ONLUS association Istituto Italiano dei Castelli on several projects, the last of which is the ongoing "COSTELLAZIONE XX" funded by Fondazione di Sardegna. Alongside, Giulia's doctoral studies investigate the traditional architecture and environmental comfort of small historical villages in Sardinia, emphasizing the relationship between marginalized territories and their communities.
